Associate Archaeologist – Project Manager/Principal

JOB SUMMARY: HRA's
Associate Archaeologists are responsible for managing complex
projects involving archaeologists, historians, and specialists in graphics and
document production; Associates supervise other HRA employees as well as
supervise and direct project teams; they participate in marketing and proposal
preparation to generate business; and they participate in overall company
management for the welfare and long-term success of HRA and its employees.
1. Education:
An MA or PhD degree in one or more disciplines related to the job position from
an accredited college or university.
2. Experience:
Demonstrated successful experience in the direction of concurrent, multiple
projects. A minimum of five years of experience related to the job position.
3. Skills:
Skilled in the application of various archaeological methods and in developing
strategies for applying them to cultural resource management projects.
Interpersonal skills needed to interact with clients, to direct a variety of
staff employees involved in multiple projects, and to interact with owners and
management in the development of corporate policy and strategies. Ability to
direct all aspects of a project including the proposal preparation and team
organization, project design and implementation, and project administration;
interact directly with clients on project design and management; function as a
liaison to the project team and to HRA support staff; develop budgets and
schedules and implement projects on his/her own and manage projects in a fashion
that will produce a high quality product within the predetermined budget and
schedule. Ability to assist management in establishing and implementing
corporate strategy and policy. Communicate verbally and in written form in a
manner that is clear, concise and understandable to other employees and clients
necessary facts, concepts, and research results as they pertain to projects and
corporate activities.
4. Compensation:
